The Liskeard and District Camera Club - Members Area Upload Page
Members may contribute their news, images, awards and showcase galleries to this site by using this email link.
How it works
Clicking on the above link will bring up your email client. The address and subject fields will already be populated so you can start to type your message. The information I will need are your name, your message and the what section you are uploading to (Winning competition images, news, membeers showcase etc). If you are including images you will need to "Attach" them to your email. Clicking on "Add Attachment" or similar in your email client will bring up file box so you can browse your hard drive and navigate to your selected image or images. If including more that one image you can add each one separately but I find it easier and quicker to "Ctrl/Click" the images you want. Clicking on "OK" will add the images to your email.
How do I prepare my images
In order to make your images suitable for inclusion on the site please adhere to the folowing guidelines:
- All images must be submitted as JPEGS
- Images should be at least 1000 pixels on the longest side
- All images should be saved at a resolution of at least 72 dpi at the highest quality setting available but with a file size no larger than 4 megabytes
- Please rename your image with a meaningful name. So instead of ".DSC1209" which tells me nothing please rename to (For example) "rapson_2011_second_view-from-the-bridge_member101.jpg" or "joe-bloggs-showcase-001_view-from-the-bridge_member101.jpg". I know this seems a little long winded but it has all the essentials I need to place the image in the correct section.
- I would prefer that you do not carry out any sharpening on the images but leave that to me so that I can choose the best settings dependant on the final resolution of the displayed image on the website.
- If you wish to include a watermark on your images then you will need to add this yourself by adding a layer to your image in the form "©..(or Copyright)..your name..year". Please bear in mind that any copyright notice should not obscure or overpower the image. Small and in one of the corners is best practice. It is worth emphasising that no image on the internet can be protected from theft, butby using relatively small, low resolution images I would hope to render them of little practical use to would-be thieves.
- If you are not sure how to go about any of the above or do not have the software available to carry out any of the required operations, then just send the full-size image to me for editing.
- Please include in the body of your email a list of the titles of each image, what compettion it was entered in and its placing or commendation. In the case of showcase submissions please include a short profile of yourself for example experience, specialist subjects and Photographic achievements. Also tell me what cameras you used and processing techniques employed to achieve you vision. For news just tell me all about it !
If you would prefer to place images on a CD or memory stick then bring them to a meeting and hand them to me and I will return them to you at a following meeting.
